The Religion of Alignment & Acceptance

Someone asked me what I practise recently. Now I’ve always been curious and therefore open-minded. So naturally, I’ve long expanded my belief system way beyond the confines of religious doctrines.

I’m omnist leaning but I wouldn’t call myself a complete pluralist. So I thought briefly and said “I practise alignment and acceptance.”

Today I get to put that to paper.

Alignment

Alignment shifts the focus from striving to resonance. Most of us are taught to construct a life through willpower. Bend yourself to fit the mould, make the outcome, hustle until the door opens.

I’ve always thought this approach is a form of self-betrayal. When we walk in alignment, we operate on a fundamental truth that what is truly meant for you will not require you to dismantle your core to receive it.

As a spiritual standard, alignment changes your life across every dimension. It’s not a belief system with commandments, it’s more about motion, present in the small choices as much as in the large ones.

In career and business choices, success is not measured only by prestige or volume, but by flow and friction.

Likewise, in every form of relationships, and marriage, this means walking alongside someone whose natural direction already matches your own, that way effort goes into nurturing the bond rather than managing basal incompatibilities.

Living in alignment essentially asks you to release “good” things to make space for the right things.

And friction is not taken as a “test of endurance” or “trials and tribulations” for you to conquer rather, as a signal that you are out of position.

That’s why we start with body-mind-soul alignment. Align the self in its three parts, and everything outside it, follows in kind.

Acceptance

The religion of acceptance is the willpower to resist skewing outcomes to your desired one.

I don’t mean living in passivity where you’re supposedly meant to surrender to whatever happens. What it really is, is self-mastery.

It takes immense internal strength to stand back and let reality land as it naturally will, especially when you have the tools, influence, or raw desire to bend it to your preference.

The true nature of acceptance is not the absence of power, but the discipline of restraint.

When acceptance becomes a religion, it reframes how you navigate control across the dynamics of life. It’s your ability to keep your hands off the scales, even when you know you can tip them.

Do not mistake this as a lack of effort or a lack of self-defence; it’s rather, a lack of force. Put in your best effort of course, speak up for yourself when you have to, but allow the outcome to reveal itself and accept it as it is.

By abandoning the painful friction between “what is” and “what you’d rather it was,” you free up mental and emotional clarity. This invites you to drop resistance and follow the path of harmony. And your growth is guaranteed.

At its core, acceptance allows you to shift from a reactive state into an observational one. By acknowledging the full truth of your reality, you create a stable foundation from which you heal, adapt, and forge a new resolve.

Alignment is the Practice, Acceptance is the Result

Most spiritual writing assumes acceptance comes first. That you make peace with a thing, and only then are you free to move with it.

On the contrary, I see it the other way round. Alignment moves first; acceptance is what remains. One is the discipline of motion, the other is the clarity made possible by that motion.

In the same light, when you align your body-mind-soul (BMS) the universe follows. Not as metaphor, but following the law of E=mc² at a different scale.

Where Soul = Body × Mind².

Because the mind is squared, minor changes in your mental state lead to massive shifts in your soul essence. And since E=mc², that shift in essence becomes energy the universe has to reckon with.

Your world reorganises around it, impacting your lived experience and the perspectives through which you understand it. If at all, you do.

Learn to remove yourself from spaces of projection, where someone else’s unresolved reflection gets cast onto you, so you don’t carry the weight of it in addition to yours.

This is why alignment is completed first, to lower resistance. Acceptance is easier when you move in alignment, almost as a byproduct.

Alignment is the doing, and acceptance is the seeing. And that is the hack to finally live freely.

Happy Healing 🎈
